Akademikerne is the umbrella organisation for 26 professional associations, representing roughly 480,000 academically educated members. Since 1972, Akademikerne has worked to create an attractive labour market and to increase the influence of academics in society.
The organisation's main task is to negotiate salaries and working conditions for its members in both the public and private sectors.
Akademikerne also looks after its members' interests in labour market policy, employment policy, along with education and research policy.
Akademikerne's vision is a more skilled Denmark, where everyone can reach their full potential and contribute to solving global challenges.
